LCA Final Project Garments

These are just a couple of photos (not edited) from my Final Major Project photoshoot. The garments I made were the outcomes of an 11 week project based around the idea of uniform and the public perception of uniform. Through my research, I found that people are quick to make assumptions and associations with or about people wearing certain uniforms, and so I felt it would be interesting to manipulate and play around with existing uniforms by combining them with others in different ways; almost like an investigation to find out if people were still able to make those same assumptions and associations.
The idea behind the styling came from a previous pin-point in the project whereby I had looked at the idea of uniform being a way of becoming anonymous. And so I felt that by painting the face and making the model look like a mannequin almost, it put across this idea of loss of identity.

Onwards and Upwards

Well, after  recently receiving the amazing news that I am the proud owner of a Merit from my FAD course at LCA, I figured now was the time to start the blog which I've been meaning to start for the past year and a half. It's taken me long enough to get here but I can finally say I'm on my way to uni!
